Each MyBible module carries own Bible book abbreviations. Usually those reproduce abbreviations from a corresponding printed edition of the Bible, but they could be just copied from another module in the same language. Not all abbreviations might seem apt enough for you, some might even irritate or appear inappropriate; that is a matter of a personal taste and preference, so it is impossible to update abbreviations in a module to suit everybody.
MyBible allows you to have your own book abbreviations, identical for modules in the same language or even for all modules, in any language.
- The “Desired abbreviations” menu item shows you the list of desired book abbreviation sets.
- You can have more than one set of desired abbreviations. They are searched in order of how they are shown (which is an alphabetical order of their names), until a desired abbreviation is found for a book.
- To re-order the sets, re-name them; you might use a digit in the beginning of a name to control the order.
- A set of desired abbreviations could (re)define all abbreviations or just correct some – this is totally up to you.
- A set of desired abbreviations can be activated and deactivated – use the switch when editing a set. Active sets have a checkmark in the list.
