Dictionary nuances

You can find the dictionary lookup feature in MyBible to be especially helpful if you will remember the following nuances:

• MyBible analyzes your active dictionaries and tries to find a single best matching dictionary article. However, a result depends on the Current Dictionary, that is, a dictionary and a Strong’s lexicon that you have explicitly selected from the dictionary window or from the dictionary balloon. Note that the Current Dictionary is marked by a check mark.
• When you see a list of suggested dictionary articles, you can not only select a desired article but a desired article from a particular dictionary: dictionary abbreviations in the list are individually clickable.
• The following types of gestures are supported for Bible words:
  1. activating a word as a hyperlink (single or double tap)
  2. activating a word as a hyperlink plus an extra tap (second or third)
  3. rubbing a word horizontally
  4. a circular gesture starting horizontally on a word
• One of the following actions can be assigned to each of the above gestures independently:
  • no action
  • look up in Strong’s lexicons, then in dictionaries
  • look up in dictionaries, then in Strong’s lexicons
  • look up in Strong’s lexicons only
  • look up in dictionaries only
  • list of all found articles
• You can assign these actions in the “Action of Bible words” group of settings.
• You can quickly switch between different actions of activating a Bible word as a hyperlink by using a vertical swipe on the Bible module selection button.
• While studying the Bible, it is convenient to be able to access only Strong’s lexicons, or only dictionaries (e.g. maps). Master the gestures for that and configure desirable actions for them.
